Digital signage layouts and templates

Divide a display into information zones and keep materials consistent across locations.

Build the layout around one clear decision

A layout defines how content is arranged on a display. It can combine video, an image, text, a clock, weather or a ticker. The Signivo editor supports ready-made templates and custom layouts using drag and drop.

Choose the main message first. For a menu, that is the offer and price; at reception, a direction for the visitor; in production, a selected indicator. Other zones should support that purpose. Too many equally prominent messages make a screen harder to read, even if each is well designed on its own.

A template helps maintain consistency

A shared template lets you change an offer without designing the screen from scratch. Define places for the logo, heading, image and contact information. Prepare separate versions for landscape and portrait if both display orientations are used in your network.

Test the design where people will see it

A laptop preview cannot replace viewing content from the audience's actual position. Check text size, contrast and information density. Keep important elements away from the edges and respect image proportions. Once approved, define which fields editors can update and which elements remain part of the brand design.

A readable template in practice

  • One clearly dominant message.
  • Text checked at a typical viewing distance.
  • Contrast and proportions suited to the installation.
  • A version matching the screen orientation.
  • Fixed brand elements and clearly defined editable fields.

FAQ

Questions about this solution

Do I have to start with an empty design?
No. You can choose a ready-made template and add your content. Custom layouts are useful when a display needs to combine several types of information.
Will one layout work on every screen?
Not always. Check the layout against orientation, aspect ratio and viewing conditions. A design intended for reception may use text that is too small for a distant shop window.
